Cape Town Here I Come!

Alright... So I’m not much of a writer and I’m new to this whole blog thing, but I’m going to give it a shot.  The purpose of this blog is to document my travels abroad this summer so that my all of my family and friends can follow along.

In medical school, the summer after first year is considered “the last summer of your life” and I wanted to make the best of it.  When trying to decide how I should spend my last summer, I knew I wanted to do something completely out of my comfort zone, something that would challenge me, and something that I would never forget.  So, I decided on a Child Family Health International trip to Cape Town, South Africa.  Beginning today, I get the opportunity to spend one month in Cape Town working in the hospitals and clinics and exploring the culture and lifestyle of South Africa.  I imagine that healthcare as I know it is going to be a completely different experience while in South Africa, and I am so excited to learn from the medical professionals in Cape Town!

I will do the best I can to post as often as I have access to internet.

To all of my KUSOM friends, good luck on your summer projects and I hope you all have amazing summers!!
